Nate Says: Why So Serious?

Energy Saving Tip

It is 52° outside. It is 77° in my apartment. My heat is off.

Getting an old lady to move into the apartment below you could save you $100's on your utility bill during the winter.

Happy Autumn!

  • Dear Nate,

I live on the ground floor of my apartment building and I feel as though digging through the foundation so that a frigid old lady can move in would possibly violate my lease agreement. I decided to burn my utility bills in a metal trash can in my Living room instead. I’m saving on heat, but I’m worried about the excessive smoke inhalation. Any advice?

  • Easy. Since you have neighbors living above you, simply rewire their thermostat to your floor and destroy your thermostat. They will heat the floor below them and in time still heat their floor. You may get some excessive heat this way, but you can also grow palm trees and have free coconuts.

  • ha ha! I live an old, outdated apartment that has ceiling heating. So I always pray the guy who lives below never goes on a holiday.
